EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a method that helps people heal from difficult or traumatic memories. In EMDR, we’ll focus on a specific memory, and while you recall it, you’ll do something simple like follow my fingers with your eyes, tap on your hands, or listen to alternating sounds. This helps your brain reprocess the memory, making it feel less intense and overwhelming over time.

The great thing about EMDR is that you don’t need to go into all the painful details of your trauma. The goal is to reduce the heavy emotions tied to those memories. Your brain has a natural way of healing, and EMDR helps activate that process, letting you feel less stuck and more in control of your past.

As we work through it, you’ll likely notice that memories that once felt very triggering start to feel more manageable, and you’ll be able to shift towards healthier, more positive beliefs about yourself and what you’ve been through. It’s not magic, it’s just how your brain works when given the right support.
