Hannah Reed, MS, LPC, RPT
I’m so glad you’re here.
I love what I do. Being a therapist isn’t just a job—it’s work that feels meaningful and deeply purposeful. I genuinely enjoy getting to know people, understanding their stories, and walking alongside them as things start to shift. There’s something really powerful about watching someone make sense of their experiences and start to feel more like themselves again.
People often want to know why therapists become therapists, so here’s my answer: I was an anxious kid—which is an understatement. My mental health was shaped early by the environment I grew up in, and therapy entered my life when I was young. I didn’t fully understand its impact then, but looking back, it changed the trajectory of my life. Huge shout out to Miss Nancy, who patiently played pick-up sticks on the floor with me when I couldn’t explain why I was struggling. That experience helped steer me toward becoming a Play Therapist—because kids don’t speak CBT worksheets, they speak play. And when given space, they naturally do the work. Kids are wired for healing. Kids are magic.
Therapy started early for me and continued through my teens and into adulthood. That’s why I can’t limit my work to just one age group. I know how different therapy feels depending on where you are in your life. But no matter your age, I want you to feel like we’re in this together. You’re the expert on your life—I’m here to support you as we figure things out side by side.
When I work with kids, I’m working within a system—families, schools, and communities. I love helping parents connect with and understand their kids, and walking with them through the challenges of parenting. It’s not just about creating space for kids to be heard—it’s about supporting the systems they’re part of, too.
Teens need you to be real. They’ll spot inauthenticity a mile away, so therapy often blends honest conversation with more experiential approaches. The things they’re navigating aren’t “just teen stuff”—they’re laying the foundation for who they’re becoming. It’s a privilege to be part of that process.
And I love working with adults. It’s an honor to help people unpack the experiences that shaped them—whether that’s trauma, complex emotions, or just the challenges of being human. Watching someone gain clarity, connect the dots, and start to heal is powerful work. Growth doesn’t always look dramatic, but it’s deeply meaningful.
I’m a Registered Play Therapist and EMDR certified. I’ve worked hard to gather knowledge and approaches that help people get unstuck. Talking alone can only take you so far—modalities like Play Therapy and EMDR help us reach the deeper layers where lasting change happens. Therapy should feel like it’s moving you forward, and it’s my job to make sure that happens in a way that works for you.
Therapy isn’t magic—but it is powerful. I’d be honored to be with you as you go through the process.
My Educational and Professional Background:
I’m a Licensed Professional Therapist, a Registered Play Therapist, and an EMDR Certified Therapist with a passion for helping people navigate life’s challenges. My path to therapy started with a degree in Visual Arts and a minor in Psychology, which gave me a unique perspective on creativity and healing. Before grad school, I worked as a Crisis Line Advocate for The Partnership Against Domestic Violence, where I saw firsthand the power of support and resilience.
I went on to earn a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and completed my internship in the Behavioral Health Unit at one of Emory Hospital’s locations. Since then, I’ve worked in private practice with clients of all ages, specializing in trauma—including childhood trauma, CPTSD, and PTSD—along with anxiety, depression, child therapy, and family transitions. My work focuses on helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with support tailored to their unique needs.
My approach is down-to-earth, collaborative, and tailored to each person—because healing looks different for everyone.

To be honest, kind of boring! I’m an introvert, so I’m all about staying home and getting lost in my hobbies. I really value the people in my inner circle and cherish those relationships.
I try not to take myself or life too seriously. Humor is one of my favorite ways to cope.
-
Make stuff. And by stuff I truly mean stuff. It depends on my mood. I am a collector of skills.
I consider myself a lifelong learner and a creative person. I had the privilege of being raised by a mother who was, and still is, a teacher who deeply believes that learning flourishes through creativity and play. She has always been an inspiration.
Creating is my favorite way to process and care for myself.

Easy! Green. This will be very apparent since many things I own are green.

Nope. Doesn’t matter if I am meeting you as a client or a parent of client. My job is to understand, not to judge.
-
I can’t be your friend, but I can be your therapist. The relationship here is all about you, not me.
